Poor Posture Trapped nerves Sciatica / Leg and foot pain Lower back pain How can chiropractic help scoliosis? Chiropractic strengthens the spine and muscles through manual adjustments to specific vertebrae, the pelvis or other joints. After just a few visits we can re-assess the individual for changes in posture or strength. This can be done using a visual check and in our digital ‘PostureLab’. We cannot say a definite number of treatments that will needed, but usually when the patient is younger and has had the problem for less time, they require less adjustments. Will the spine straighten with treatment? It depends if it is a structural or functional problem as to whether the spine will totally straighten or not, which we can discover through xrays and examination. However, most important is that the spine moves well, is strong and does not cause compensations in other areas of the spine such as the neck, which can lead to headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, stomach pains and spinal degeneration later in life. Will I be given exercises? Yes, we will give some advice and some exercises to support your care but first we need to make sure the spine is strong enough. If we introduce exercises too early it can be painful and potentially harm the spine. Whiplash and Road traffic injury
